Music

L.O.V.E. – Nat King Cole

This 1964’s jazz song is a timeless classic with nostalgic tones about love and prompts you to stand up and dance with the object of your affection.

Come Vorrei – Richi e Poveri

Chance meetings are such a wonderful way for life to point us to the one we will soon develop a relationship with. Even though it seems impossible at the beginning, the ending always has the element of surprise, as the song implies.

Valentine Song – Lotte Mullan

Love is much more than the material things one can provide you with and this song does a marvellous job by showing us the loving relationship between a happy but not financially secure couple.

Can’t find the words – Lotte Mullan

What drew me in to this song is the fact that telling the truth has often a negative impact to another person’s feeling as well to myself when someone else takes that role.

Tell Him – Celine Dion & Barbra Streisand

This classic 1997 song by two true legends is sure to touch the ones struggling with telling the person they love about their romantic feelings.

Books

The Archipelago on Fire by Jules Verne

The book is set in 1827 during the Greek Revolution and portrays the struggle of Greek shipowners and crews as they face the Turks and the pirates who roam the Aegean, killing, stealing and capturing people with the intention of selling them as slaves. Although rough in themes it is very educational about the history and geography of Greece during the Greek War of Independence.

The Little Paris Bookshop by Nina George

Monsieur Perdu is a literary apothecary who prescribes novels for the hardships of life atop his floating bookstore in a barge on the Seine. Haunted from his great love’s disappearance he refuses to read the letter she left him. But he does read it one day and this action leads him to a journey to the South of France in order to seek answers.

A brilliant story filled with warmth and emotional moments that stole my heart away.

Shops

Ragoo

Viale Monza, 140, 20127 Milano, Italy

The bar is located near Turro metro station. With a friendly staff and diverse list of drinks (my personal favourite being the Alexander coctail) is the perfect place for a late-night drink and a dancing session.

Ristorante La Locanda Del Gatto Rosso

Via Ugo Foscolo 3 Corner Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Milano, Italy

This Italian restaurant is located inside the Galleria Vittorio Emanuel II and offers a wide variety of delicious dishes, including pasta and pizza, at very good prices. Definetelly one of the best food choices I’ve made while in Milano.
